What would your Corrie pie be?
Fred Elliot would have probably gone for Steak and Ale. Roy would be serving an All Day Breakfast variety. Betty…well we all know what Betty’s favourite would be. But now Holland’s Pies, the North West’s best loved producer of pies and puds, is giving everyone in the region the chance to choose their favourite ‘Corrie’ themed pie!
The competition is being run through Holland’s chip shop partners across the North West. People are being asked to log onto a specially created website – www.hollandscorrie.co.uk – and vote for one of ten special flavours, or submit their own ideas. Each vote gives an additional entry into a prize draw to win an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of the Coronation Street set.
The iconic pie company is one of Coronation Street’s ‘Best of British’ brands, brought together to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the soap. The competition is the first of a number of promotions planned throughout 2010 to highlight the history of Britain’s No.1 soap and the partnership with Holland’s.
Neil Court-Johnston, MD of Holland’s Pies, said:
“We want to get as many people across the region as possible celebrating two North West icons: Coronation Street and Holland’s Pies. The two brands are a perfect match. We’re both steeped in tradition, loved by millions and a core part of this region’s identity.
“We aim to have a lot of fun with a series of major events throughout the region, from Merseyside and the north-west coast through to the streets of Manchester, where we’ll be hosting a number of events in the summer.”
To enter the competition, pie fans need to log on to www.hollandscorrie.co.uk, either choose their favourite Corrie-themed pie or suggest their own filling, and that’s it! Each vote counts as an entry into the prize draw and the winner will be announced in July.
