Holland’s treat ‘foodies’ to chippie tea

The journalists were invited to chip shops throughout Lancashire, where they met a local member of the now famous ‘Pie Panel’, which helped to develop the new and improved range, before a selection of pies and puddings were served.

Ian Rawcliffe, a member of Holland’s Pie Panel explains:

“I think it was a great idea to invite the journalists along – it’s the perfect place to sample the perfect pie. We spent a lot of time on the new range and everyone’s really proud of the way they’ve turned out so it’s great to get positive feedback from the public, the press and the chippie owners!”

Nicholas Pongourou, co-owner of Frydays chip shop in Burnley, said:

“We have a really good relationship with Holland’s and were delighted to get involved. People have traditionally loved their pies and puds so I’m not surprised the new range has been such a success – it certainly went down well today. It’s been a great event that’s good fun – and good for business.”

Neil Court Johnston, Managing Director of Holland’s commented:

“We’ve always listened carefully to our chip shop owners and, wherever possible, looked to drive more custom their way. Our new pies are perfect for the chip shops, combining our traditional taste with deeper filling, improved ingredients and more chunks of meat – delivered freshly-baked each day.”

“Our new advertising campaign has already engaged millions of people throughout the North West, now the rave reviews from our visiting ‘foodie’ journalists will create even more interest.”
