Holland's target Chinese market with new appointment
Holland’s Pies, the North West’s best known producer of pies and puds, has appointed Chinese speaker Laura Chan as its new Business Development Representative for Chinese Takeaways. In her new role Laura will be working to ensure that Holland’s pies and puds can be ordered as an alternative to traditional Chinese food, from Chinese takeaways and restaurants throughout the North West.
Neil Court-Johnston, Managing Director of Holland’s Pies explains…
“We already deliver fresh Holland’s pies and puds on a daily basis to takeaways of all kinds as well as traditional chippys. Our Chinese and Indian takeaway customers like to offer a British alternative to their standard ethnic cuisine, and Holland’s pies and puds are a firm favourite with their customers.”
He continued…
“Nevertheless we are keen to widen the net. Laura, who speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin fluently and has an excellent understanding of the Chinese community here in the North West, is perfectly placed to help us to do so. We are delighted to welcome her to the team.”
Laura was born in China, but has lived in the North-West for the last 17 years. She graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Mathematics, and then spent six years working for Baines and Ernst, in both a financial and marketing role.
Latterly Laura has been working as an immigration specialist with Chinese students and workers in Manchester.
Laura said:
“I’m very excited about getting to grips with my new role. Holland’s already delivers fresh pies and puds to over 300 Chinese takeaways in the North West area. These customers are already reaping the rewards of widening their appeal by offering a proper British pie or pud to compliment their traditional menu. My aim is to spread the message further and I’m already finding the audience to be receptive. After all the appeal of top quality products, coupled with the sales support offered by Holland’s, is universal.”
