Holland's support pie powered promotion push!
Holland's Pies, the north west manufacturer of pies and puddings and sponsors of Burnley FC, are wishing The Clarets the best of luck as they take on Sheffield in their push for a slice of the biggest ‘pies’ in football; a place in the Premier League.
Neil Court-Johnston, Holland's MD comments:
"We are delighted that The Clarets have reached the playoff final this season. For another north west team to join the ranks of the top flight would be a fantastic achievement for the club, the fans and the town. Though we won’t be sponsoring Burnley next year, I couldn’t think of a better way to end our two year agreement than to see them reach the Premier League for the first time. Clarets fans shouldn’t be too worried though, as win or lose, our Premier League quality pies and puddings will still be available at Turf Moor next season!"
He went on to say: "In lieu of a big name football club sponsorship next year, we are looking to support the next generation of regional stars, and are devising a plan for the 2009/2010 season that will see Holland's actively involved in supporting amateur, grass roots football throughout the north west. Apart from helping to nurture the next generation of footballers, we are also trying to promote active lifestyles, as well as an understanding that our pies and puds can form part of a healthy, balanced diet."
Apart from Burnley, Holland's also supply a number of other clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool and Preston NE - Delia Smith even insisted that they be made available to supporters of Norwich City. For the 2009/10 season, Holland's will be supplying a host of other sports clubs around the North of England.
