Holland’s Pies’, the leading of supplier of fresh pies and puddings to chippys and fast food outlets throughout the north west, has unveiled a range of striking new point of sale materials for its customers.

The new Holland’s themed promotional package includes a window roundel, an open and closed sign, branded window stripping, product posters, a meal deal board and counter and range stripping. Designed to drive sales of freshly cooked Holland’s pies and puddings the package is available, entirely free of charge, to every chip shop and fast food customer that purchases fresh product from Holland’s vans.

“We’re keen to do everything we can to support our chip shop and fast food outlet customers”, said Neil Court-Johnston, Managing Director of Holland’s Pies. “Since I joined the business just five months ago we have been listening very hard to what they and their customers have to say. New promotional materials were seen, by many, to be an urgent requirement. We have been happy to invest and oblige.”

Following feedback from chip shop owners and customers Holland’s Pies has also been reviewing the quality of each one of its pies and puddings. As a result Holland’s have restored the famous jelly to their pies, put more meat in their steak and kidney pies and puddings and increased the fill of their potato and meat pie. Next on the agenda are the unmistakeable cheese and onion pies and pasties with a recipe that’s been closely guarded for 157 years. Neil explains his reasoning:

“We’re a company steeped in tradition with an incredible reputation. I therefore feel very strongly that we should not compromise on the quality of the products we’ve built our success upon. That’s why we’ve been listening to feedback, from chip shop owners and their customers, about our products and what makes a truly great pie or pudding. Now we’ve acted on that feedback and quickly introduced a number of important product improvements.”

To accelerate the feedback and review process, the decision was made to recruit a consumer tasting panel of discerning pie enthusiasts. The pie panel is now in place, and is playing its part in raising the profile of Holland’s pies and pie eating, and promoting sales.

Holland’s has also invested over a £1M in a new, 20-strong, flexible and fuel efficient chip shop and fast food outlet delivery fleet.

“The sight of a Holland’s delivery van, with its distinctive green, red and gold livery, dropping off fresh pies and puddings to the local chip shop is one which is close to the heart of so many people”, said Neil Court-Johnston.  “The vans are also smaller which will allow us to be more flexible. The result is that we will be able to meet our customers’ needs more effectively, which is what we’re all about.”

Holland's produces 1million pies per week and serves over 80% of the fish & chip shops in the north west. Over 1000 chip shops in the north west receive daily deliveries of fresh Holland’s pies and puddings. Holland's also supplies pies to Manchester United, Liverpool, Burnley FC and Blackburn Rovers. Celebrity cook Delia Smith chose Holland's Pies to supply Norwich. 92% of people in the north west have heard of Holland's Pies.
