Holland's Pies lends support to East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce
Holland’s Pies, the north west’s leading supplier of pies and puddings, which employs over 400 people at its factory in Baxenden, Lancashire, has joined the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce as part of its commitment to making a positive contribution to the economic development of the north west region.
Managing Director of Holland’s Pies, Neil Court-Johnston, explains:
“Holland’s Pies is dedicated to making great pies and puddings in a responsible way. We believe that part of this commitment should be to support the community in which we work. As a result, we aim to become actively involved in organisations such as the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, which are seeking to develop the wider economy of our region and the interests of its members.”
He added:
“As one of the region’s best known businesses and largest employers we believe we have a great deal to offer the north west business community. However it’s not simply a one way process because although we’re arguably one of the region’s oldest businesses – dating back to 1851 - you’re never too old to learn! And to that end we’re looking forward to establishing stronger links with local businesses of all kinds during the coming months.”
Holland’s Pies is part of Northern Foods. The company enjoys a 60% share of the market in the north west, where 92% of people have heard of Holland’s Pies. Holland’s produces more than 80m chilled and frozen pies, pasties and puddings every year, which are sold in sports stadia, retail outlets, food service operations and chip shops throughout the north west.
