Holland’s nominated for a Vegetarian Society award
Holland’s Pies, the North West’s best known producer of pies and puds, has been shortlisted by The Vegetarian Society as a finalist in ‘The Best Convenience Food’ category for its Cheese and Onion Pie.
The Vegetarian Society “Approved” Awards, now in its tenth year, is an annual celebration of the very best in vegetarian food, catering, and lifestyle, highlighting the companies and services which are making life easier for vegetarians in the UK. Thousands of nominations were received online and Holland’s has emerged as a brand which meets the high standards of quality set by both The Vegetarian Society and its members.
All shortlisted products will be judged by the Vegetarian Society panel of judges and the winners will be announced on Thursday the 28th of October during an awards ceremony at the London Canal Museum.
Leanne Holcroft, Holland’s Brand Manager, said:
“This is a tremendous achievement for everyone involved in the development, manufacture and delivery of Holland’s Cheese and Onion Pie. We are extremely grateful to everyone who voted for us.”
The improved Holland’s Cheese and Onion Pie recipe, which was conceived with the help of the Holland’s team of pie panellists, is made with mature cheese sourced in Lancashire from the award-winning Dew-Lay Creamery in Garstang and produced from the milk of cows grazed exclusively on Bowland fells or Fylde Pastures.
It is the first Holland’s Pie to be awarded Vegetarian Society approval.
Holland’s employs 370 people at its Lancashire base and is part of Northern Foods. The company enjoys a 65% share of the market in the North West, an area where 92% of people have heard of Holland’s Pies.
Holland’s Cheese and Onion Pie is available both chilled and frozen in the North West of England, from chip shops, retail outlets and is now available to purchase direct from our online shop. For more information, visit:
