Proper Pies and Puds

Holland’s Coronation Street pies unveiled!

Holland’s Pies, the North West’s best known producer of pies and puddings, has announced that it is going to give pie and Corrie fans a real flavour of ‘The Street’ with the launch of a new range of Limited Edition Coronation Street Pies across the nation.

Corrie

The Rovers Beef and Veg Hotpot, the Rovers Chicken, Leek and White Wine Pie and the Rovers Steak and Ale pie, will be on sale nationwide in selected retailers from September onwards after fans were asked for suggestions to capture the essence of Britain’s favourite soap.

Leanne Holcroft, Brand Manager of Holland’s Pies explains:

“Holland’s Pies is one of Coronation Street’s ‘Best of British’ brands promotional partners, which were brought together to help celebrate the 50th anniversary and what better way to celebrate than to create a range of pies influenced by the show?

We’ve been making pies the ‘proper’ way since 1851 but this time we’ll be combining our secret recipes and the finest ingredients with a Corrie twist that we’re sure will be a winner with soap and pie fans everywhere.

We’re so excited about this range and consider it an honour to be making them at such an important time for Coronation Street.”

The Limited Edition Corrie Pie is just one of many promotions and events planned over the coming months to highlight the history of Britain’s longest running soap – and the partnership with Holland’s.

Leanne continues:

“Coronation Street and Holland’s are a perfect match and this is the perfect time to recognise it. Whilst Coronation Street celebrates its 50th Anniversary, Holland’s Pies approaches its 160th year of existence. So we want the people to celebrate the ‘proper’ way with a Corrie Pie!”

The new limited edition range of frozen pies, which will be available nationally in Iceland, Tesco, Morrisons and selected retailers, will be supported by a substantial marketing and communications campaign, including Holland’s first TV campaign in ten years.

Holland’s employs 370 people at its Lancashire base and is part of Northern Foods. The company enjoys a 60% share of the market in the North West, an area where 98.9% of people have heard of Holland’s Pies.
