Double car win for local woman
A local woman is celebrating after winning a second car in her company’s monthly prize draw – only six months after having her name drawn out of the hat for the first time.
Denise Shaw, who works at Holland’s Pies, Baxenden, won her first car in the Northern Foods monthly draw in July last year. She was shocked to hear that her name had been drawn again in a recent draw – and another car was on its way to her!
Northern Foods makes the draw monthly from its head office in Leeds. It has been running the competition for several years, and this is first time anyone has won twice.
Denise, who lives in Bacup with her husband, Kenneth, said:
“To win the prize draw once and get a new car was fantastic, but when I heard my name had been drawn again I just couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a wind-up at first, to have won twice just seemed too unlikely!”
Neil Court Johnston, Managing Director of Holland’s Pies, said:
“I think everyone at Holland’s would like to congratulate Denise on her extraordinary good luck. There are hundreds of people in the draw each month, so the odds of anyone winning twice are very small – I hope Denise is a regular lottery player with luck like that!”
