What's it all about?
We’re on a mission to revive the passion for the great British pie and our Pie Panel is leading the way. Find out more about how they're helping us and you…
Wherever you are, the issue of what makes a good pie generates a lively debate and it’s fair to say that the north west is livelier than others.
Right now, there’s a real desire for good quality, traditional British fayre and, as a company that makes over 80 million pies, puddings and pasties each year, we decided to open the debate on the great British pie.
The Pie Panel was the start of a long term project to ensure that we remain in touch with the tastes of the whole region.
That’s why we put together a series of tough taste tests to ensure that we selected a team that would play an important role in the future of Holland’s Pies – and help us to shape the decisions we take.
With the help of our Pie Panel we’ve been reviewing the quality of all of our products and we’ve been listening carefully to our customers. We’ve revisited all the things people have traditionally loved about our pies and looked to retain and, where necessary, re-discover that love.
As a direct result of this work, we've quickly restored the famous jelly to our pies, put more meat in our steak and kidney pies and puddings and increased the filling of our potato and meat pies.
Next on the agenda are Holland’s unmistakeable cheese and onion pies, which will be re-launched, made with the finest cheese from an award winning Lancashire creamery. The new cheese and onion pie is the first entirely new Holland’s recipe to be launched as a result of our Pie Panel's efforts ... and it's gorgeous!
See, we said it wasn't a gimmick!
