The Basement Project in Burnley is Holland's Pies second ‘Holland's Hero’!
After floods of entries during the first two weeks making a decision on who should be rewarded as a Holland’s Hero is becoming an increasingly tough task!
We finally decided upon who should be the deserving winner for the second week of ‘Pie Month’ after receiving a nomination from Louise Welch, the community coordinator of The Basement Project in Burnley [www.basementproject.co.uk].
So, this week, they all got a surprise visit from Stan the Van Man, Holland’s mascot, complete with a bumper delivery of tasty pies to cheer everyone up during the cold months!
Louise told us in her nomination: “The Project gives young people the opportunity to try new things, learn skills and make friends but most importantly it helps them to make more positive choices in their lives. These young people most certainly deserve a Holland’s Heroes visit in recognition of all their hard work and so do our voluntary staff to say thank you for all the time and effort that goes into The Basement Project.”
But more visits will take place throughout the month so we still need your nominations, so keep sending them in! All you have to do is email your reason why you, or someone you know, deserve some of our best ever recipe pies, in less than 50 words to hollandsheroes@hollandspies.co.uk
