Competition Winner Enjoys Amazing Day On Coronation Street Set Filming Walk On Part
Friday 28th January 2011 is a date that our VIP on Coronation Street main prizewinner Mark Rooney will remember for a very long time – as the day he visited ITV Studios in Manchester to film his walk on part in the soap and met his all time favourite star from the street.
Mark, an avid Corrie fan from Salford, was drawn as the lucky winner of the top prize in our ‘Be a VIP on Coronation Street’ competition, which we ran in conjunction with ITV STUDIOS as part of the celebrations marking the soap’s 50th birthday.
On the day, Mark brought along his son Declan to share in the excitement that included a guided tour of the set, hanging out with cast and crew and watching filming take place – the highlight of which was Mark taking part in one of that day’s scenes, where he and another extra walked arm-in-arm down the famous cobbled street outside the Rovers Return.
Mark was also really chuffed that he got to meet and have his photo taken with Shobna Gulati, who plays his favourite character Sunita.
Mark and Declan certainly had a fab day and you can find out more of what it was like direct from the man himself, who’ll be appearing on our next PieCast podcast show due out at the end of this month.
