Celebrating 150 Years of Fish and Chips!
Did you know that this year marks the official 150th birthday of 'Fish and Chips'?...well it does and 25th June has been designated as the big official birthday...'National Fish and Chip Day'!
The year long celebration of the 150th birthday of Fish and Chips is the brain child of the National Federation of Fish Friers. All sorts of events are being planned across the country to mark the anniversary including dinner dances, balls, casino evenings, exhibitions, numerous competitions and even a balloon race!
As an Associate Member of the National Federation of Fish Friers, we'll definitely be getting involved in the celebrations and will update you on how you can take part over the next few weeks. Locally, we attend the regular meetings of the Burnley & District Fish Friers Association, to gain first hand feedback from chippy owners on the products and service we deliver to them. The monthly meetings are a great way to share knowledge and expertise, the sort of topics discussed at the last meeting included; gas & electricity comparative prices, business performance, portion control and commodity prices & how best to buy.

The last local meeting in April was held here at the bakery, it proved so popular that we'll be hosting the next one here too!
